Re: share my story with ye - want to share yours story

Re: share my story with ye - want to share yours story

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well, myself and Dh have also been trying for 3 yrs ..I thought once we got married next step was become preg ,that it would happen with the snap of my fingers..but no. So many things went thought our heads are we doing something wrong ..do i even have eggs ...am i thinking and stressing about it to much.I decided to check out books ,the internet all which advised to leave it for a year before going to doc.So yr went by, went to doc panicing that something would come out of this.. that I might be told that I could never have kids ..Got blood tests done all were fine had low B12 so got injections for that, then Dh had his sperm test done all fine then I had to have a Laporospy all fine there too which was a relief .. went on the public waiting list I 26 yrs at the time ...but no wordtime was passing quickly I started getting anguish ..so decided to start saving hard and went to Private clinic which Im glad I did.
They were so nice and you weren't just another number throught the door...\treatment satrted as follows -Went on Clomid Dr. said your youg healthy nothing abnormal so cant see any problem on both of ye getting preg..we were so positive laughing on the drive home form the clinic " this is it Babe" I Said " This is going to work" i was sure so sure. As the 2 wks rolled by one twinge after twinge i was thinking " is this how preg women feel" periods two days late. But that night My dream was back to the nightmare of here we go again...the thinking , wishing and hoping...
Was on Colimd for four months with no joy..so after crying myself a river I decide to take the next step...Injections then went head on with the same positive attitude, that the odds are better that the nurses were going to see the follicles and put in the sperm so everything will be where it should be.. yet again on two tries of this procedure a BIG NOTHING ..Savings running low at this stage.. doc said keep positive " easy for him to say" I took a bit of a break I was emotionally and phyically tired from it all. It was all I every thought about day and night .5 girls in work were preg one anther the other.. My two sisters got preg too... I got so depressed with the whole lot ..I decided to go for IVF which was the last stage for us ..I had 24 eggs brilliant i said at least I'm producing eggs ,I'm now 30 yrs old Dh is 31. (I notice that time flies by more quickly when going through all of this.) Two eggs conbined with Dh's sperm were inserted ...back to the emotional rollercoster again trying not to think about it for 2wks impossible to do. Hoping and praying every night that please let it happen this time please My heart sank once again ,another kick in the gut.. so i have at present two em-frozen and just have taken a 6 month time-out to relax and go on a holiday forget about is all for a bit and try it the natural way so waiting to see if that has worked...that's our story so far please share yours would love to hear them all....

Re: share my story with ye - want to share yours story

clark im sorry your first ivf didnt work... it must be even harder when they cant tell u why u havent fallen pregnant.. i guess sometimes u just need a break, and u never know miracles happen and maybe u will get ur baby the all natural way.. me and dh have been trying 4 yrs, started seeing re about a yr ago, we are on our first ivf cycle now... we are dealing with mf infertility so we could even try emds or iui first, are going straight for icsi/ivf... anyway if u ever need to talk or vent u definitly came to the right place!!!

Re: share my story with ye - want to share yours story

MF- Male Factor
PCOS- Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome
Beta- after your 2 week wait you get this blood test to see if you have a pregnancy hormone and if you do they see how high it is. I know we just had a whole thread discussing this blood test.
RE-Reproductive Endocrinologist.

Hope that helps you out a little bit!

I am on my 2nd IVF currently, the first 1 failed due to fertilization issues so I am pretty confident that this one will work with ICSI administered immediately. I am 26 and my DH is going to be 28 two days after we hear if we are PG or not from our 2nd round. So for his sake on his birthday I am looking for a positive outcome. Glad to have you aboard. Are you going to be doing a frozen embryo transfer soon or what?

Re: share my story with ye - want to share yours story

Sorry I didn't see your response above that one. I hope it works for all of us I know how hurtful this process is you just have to stay positive and retrain your brain into believing that no matter what you will be a mommy. Clark I am sorry you haven't been getting the responses you need its the weekend give all the women an opportunity to get back on the boards they will lift you up!

Re: share my story with ye - want to share yours story

Hi Clarkone!
It's neat to me how all our stories are different, and yet they have elements that are the same...
I was married at 19 and my dh and I planned to wait three years and then start our big family. When I was pg. just after our first anniversary, we were shocked (we had been using contraception) but pleased.
I miscarried in a few days.
I never expected to face any such a thing. When our mourning time was over, we couldn't bear to use contraception any more. So we thought, "next time, things will be better." I read all the pregnancy books and picked up baby stuff at yard sales and I thought we were ready. But no baby came.
After a year and two months, I went for my first fertility workup. I was diagnosed "unexplained infertility," and told to relax and let things happen. I kept going to different fertility specialists every couple of years, and tried all kinds of treatments, but had no luck.
Finally, after twelve years of trying to conceive, in 2004, I saw a Reproductive Endocrinologist, and our fertility problems were discovered. We needed IVF with ICSI--and our current insurance would pay for it!!! So we went for it.
and God blessed us with a beautiful little boy, and a few little frozen embabies. Our son is a delight! I hated all my struggle and pain of infertility at the time, but if I hadn't gone through it, I might never have had my son.
Now we are back to the RE to do a frozen embryo transfer, so that our little boy can have a baby brother or sister (or two). Our transfer is scheduled for Aug. 11 (this Friday). Strangely, I found that all the pain and fears and insecurity of infertility are still there. Even though I've had a happy pregnancy, I'm still terrified that... well, that somehow I just won't be able to do it...
The thing I have learned is that infertility changes you in some ways. It makes you stronger to face things that you feel you cannot bear. It makes you appreciate the gift of life in every little one. And if your marriage and health can survive infertility, it can survive anything!!
I guess that's enough of my story!
Thanks for the opportunity to share! Sorry so late...

Re: share my story with ye - want to share yours story

Okay here's my story:
I was married in '03 to my DH who is now 30, I'm 29 1/2. He and I both wanted to wait at least a year before we started to have kids...but then I was going back for my masters and he was waiting on a promotion at work, and we decided to wait a little longer.

In May of '05, I stopped taking BCPs and started getting very irregular periods, which was so frustrating with TTC . I went to my OBGYN (in December) after 2 months of no period and she did a few tests, including getting one for my husband. Through his SA (seman analysis), we found out, to our big surprise , he had a very low count, low motility and low morphology. He went to a Urologist who did more SAs and more tests and he recommended we go to an RE.

Now, at this time it was Feb. of '06 and after looking at all our tests, our RE recommended IVF right away. We found out our insurance covered it and went for it. I had my first, very stressful cycle with lots of questions , and thought in my very being that it would work but we sadly got a BFN. We were able to freeze 2 though and decided to do an FET next, and then, I was positive! But only faintly positive, and only for a weekend, and again, we were curshed by another BFN. On to another fresh cycle, my current one. Through this one, my mother passed away in the middle of stimming. So, needlesstosay, this has been a very emotionally hard cycle and I'm now awaiting my results to see if it worked. I am terrified of another negative. But time will tell.

You are not alone. You have found a very supportive site. (We are not allowed to suggest or discuss other message boards, but they are out there.) As you can tell by my posts, I have been on here alot and this is the board I keep coming back to. I wish you all the best!! Keep us posted with your progress!
