Acupucture - Infertility Message Board

Janice wants to try acupucture with this round of IUI. Does anyone out there have some experience with this process? Also any advice for the DH to take as far as just a vitamin supplement?

I didn't do acupuncture with my 4 failed IUIs, but I did it with my IVF cycle, which was successful. I would definitely suggest going to an acupuncturist who specializes in infertility, rather than a general practitioner. I'm not familiar with the research on acupuncture & IUI, but I know that for IVF, having treatments right before and after embryo transfer is related to higher success rates. One of the reasons is because it increases blood flow to the uterus, thus making it easier for the embryos to implant.

I also did acupuncture for my 3rd IVF cycle and was successful.

I definitely reccomend it. It helped keep me balanced and ease the stress of the whole process. I agree with suesy and would make sure to choose one who specializes in infertility. When I went to mine, there were sonogram pictures and birth announcements all over on one of her cabinets, and it made me feel very comfortable and optimistic that she could really help me. Also, now at 14 weeks, I still go every 2 weeks. Good luck!!

I did acupuncture with my IUI -- the results are yet to be determined! I went to an acupuncturist that works with IVF clients and told her that I wanted similar treatment. I went 3 times before the IUI and 2 times afterwards.

My DH takes a men's daily multi-vitamin, vitamin E, Grape Seed Extract, and zinc. He has low morphology and these supplements were suggested to improve in this area.

Goldenmom - when is your beta? Good luck to you! Janice has an appt. this Friday with the acupuncture doctor to start her appointments. We will see what he suggests.
