Will I ever be a mother? I ask myself this everyday.... i hear about success stories but u also hear about women who can never have children no matter what they do. How do you know if you are one of them. I cryed all last night asking myself this question. Have any of you with PCOS and being overweight had any success stories?.... In need of hope

Sorry, I don't know anything about PCOS (we're "unexplained infertility" still) but I know how you feel. I think of all the nights I've cried myself to sleep wondering if I'd ever get to be a mom. It doesn't seem fair when your trying so hard and doing everything right and it seems like everyone else around you gets pregnant so easily... I just have to believe that there is some reason for it all, that it will happen when its supposed to... I know, not very encouraging... but I know I'm not alone, there are many other couples that are struggling, and that someday, somehow I'll be a mom even if it isn't with a child that is biologically my own...

Don't feel bad about letting yourself grieve over your IF. Sometimes you need to grieve. And we don't mind listening... thats what we're all here for, so vent away

I am so sad to read this because i can sense how sad you are. Infertility is the hardest, most emotional thing to go through and the only real way to understand someones emotions is to go through it. I can only imagine how hard it is for you, I have 3 kids, conceived easily and now have been ttc for 18 months with 3 miscarriages. So although I already have children, I have secondary IF and that is hard, but I can totally sympathise with you, trying for number 1.

Keep positive and moving forward, and know that you are not alone and the girls here are wonderful to give support and a shoulder to cry on. Take care.

Oh, a question I often think too, ma belle. I also have PCos, but as of right now, it is not being treated. mais, many of the women here will tell you that they know of ladies who have PCOS and have children, happy healthy children. We know how you feel, cherie, it's scary and hard. This weekend, I was thinking about it.... IF isn't just the hardest thing I've 9we) have ever faced....it's by far the scariest. Mais, have faith. It's easier said than done, I know, and I'm sorry cheire. But you must try...if you pray, I find that helps. Think positively......but do not be afriad to grieve your IF. I cried for a most of last week, to be honest. But now I am ready to go after my children and protect them-- even though they do not exist yet. We are here for you chiere, as you grieve and when you are redy to fight IF.

I am a success story.

I was DX'ed with PCOS in 2003, I weighed 312lbs. We had been TTC for 3 years at that point, and all the doctors I had visited told me we wouldn't get pregnant unless on injectables.

We had done several rounds of Clomid, It didn't even get me to O.

the only way I was getting AF was to take prometrium. It was awful.

I finally saw another new doctor, and she prescribed metformin for me, I lost about 6 lbs on it, and my periods started regulating, I started charting again, and saw that I was actually O'ing, but still month after month, no baby.

In novemeber 2005, I went on Ovcon for 2 cycles, because I didn't want to have my period while on vacation. I stopped the pill after the second pack and got pregnant in December 2005.

My baby boy is now just about 11 months old!

All told, it was a long and hard road for me and DH, we started trying in Early 2000, and I didn't get to hold my baby until Sept 22 2006. We had no support from family, as they weren't "ready to be grandparents". My friends didn't really understand what was going on, it was a lonely path to travel, but here we are, happy as a clam! And entertiaing the idea of TTC #2...
