Well I had my appointment this morning to check my follicles. I have five of which two are very small and the Dr thinks they will not develop and the other three are only at 6mm on cd8. The gyn has increased my injection dosage to 75iu as from tomorrow. To see if we can get them to grow quicker. My lining is only at 4mm so he have put me on Progynova to thicken the lining. I have another appointment on Monday morning to see whether the follicles have grown. At least I have some follicles to work with. I have also spoken to the fertility clinic in Joburg and they have reassured me that they will continue to grow over the weekend and I can probably start OPK on Monday. They have also said that increasing the dose is the right thing to do. .
I was a little disappointed this morning when I was told that my follies are small, but at least they are there. Bring on the higher dose and grow follies grow.
Charlene, it's okay to be a little disappointed, but when I did injections 3+ years ago and got pg with my son, the follies grew really slowly and they had to up my dosage too. I ended up having a really long cycle, but just remember that I did get pregnant. So it can still happen! At least you have 3 that are growing! I feel bad now that mine were bigger than yours My RE just knew to start me on a higher dosage because of my history. Maybe if you would've been on a higher dose, you would have had too many follicles and ended up with OHSS, so it could be a good thing. My u/s is also scheduled for Monday (at noon), but you are 8 hours ahead of me, so yours will be first! I still have faith that yours will grow quickly now and we will still be in the 2ww together! I'll do an extra follie dance for you on my way to work today! Keep your chin up!!!
Cristy don't feel bad that yours are bigger than mine. At least they are there and can be boosted to grow quicker. I will most probably end up with a long cycle, but I generally have long cycles anyway. On the clomid my cycles were always between 32 and 34 days so it is nothing new. Thanks for your encougagement about getting pg with you first under the same circumstances as me now. I am still confident that this is going to be our cycle and we are both going to end up with BFP's. My Re in joburg is not worried at all. The reason they started me on such a low dose is because of the possibility of getting OHSS.
My appointment on Monday is at 8.45 so by the time you get up I will have posted my news already.

I just posted in your other thread asking about your appt, and the news has been here all along. Great news that you've got three follies (maybe even 5!) in the running!!! Don't worry about how long it's taking them to grow. I've heard time and time again that it is actually better for them to grow slow rather than fast because if they grow too fast, it can affect the quality of the eggs. I also remember Marie's recent IVF experience where her cycle took much longer than expected because her follies were growing slowly, and she got her bfp that cycle!! So do not worry sweetie. Everything will be fine. Since your lining is a little on the thin side, I also think it's actually to your advantage that your follies are growing slowly - it will give your lining a chance to catch up. I'm sure Monday's appt will bring you good news!
Char- I posted on your other thread too I am in total agreement with what Holly said. I think that everything looks good, and I have also heard time and again that slower is good! So don't you fret. I think your day is over now, so enjoy a good rest and put your feet up! I really do think that this cycle is still the cycle
Thanks I hope you are right that slower is good. I will first increase my dose and then see what happens at my appointment on Monday. I have not lost hope.
DH is taking me out for dinner and tomorrow I am working and then we are having friends over for a Fondue, so my weekend is jam packed. It should be fun.
Hey Char! I'm so glad you have a few follies to work with... they're gonna grow grow grow over the weekend!!!! It sounds like your doctor is being very pro-active in managing all aspects of your cycle. I like that they gave you something to help your lining. A thin lining has always plagued me during my cycles, but I've never been given anything prior to trigger to help in that area. And you will respond to the increased dose I promise. But just to be safe, I'll follie dance all weekend long for you sister!!!!
Kari thanks for doing the follie dance for me I am sure it is going to work Princess also offered to follie dance (With clothes on )LOL. I must be honest I am a little worried about the lining but I am sure the medication s going to work. My Gyn is really doing everything possible to get me ready for when the follies are big enough. I am so glad that I have found a doctor that actually cares about my cycle, unlike my old gyn.
remember, slow and steady wins the race. Be patient and those follies will grow just as you need them to. and your lining will have time to catch up. My RE always said I could drink alcohol sensibly until I got the positive beta. Good luck!
That's right, I'm doing a follie dance! Just remember, that at least your lining and follies are neck and neck---- they are both in the growing stage, so to speak. I think you would have had something to be worried over if you had really fat juicy follies and very thin lining. But I think this way, you have mroe time to have the folies grow WITH your lining

Charlene, I am so glad to see you're feeling more at ease at the progress of your cycle so far. I really think things are going to turn out great!!! How is the higher dose treating you? Still feeling good?

Holly the higher dose is going well, I have had a few big twinges onmy right side and that is where the bigger follicles were, so hopefully the follies are growing nicely. Well only 15 hours to got till my appointment tomorrow and then we will know if my follies and lining have grown.
Princess I love the way you said who needs a matching set of earings and necklace if you can have good follies and a goog lining to match. I really hope I have got both.

I should be in the 2ww soon, possibly doing the trigger tomorrow since I have not gotten a + OPK yet. Hopefully you will be right behind me so the 2ww goes faster for both of us.
