PCOS 1 tube and low progesterone

Hi everyone,
Am I the only person I know with 3 fertility problems? Im 28yrs old, Have a healthy partner with v.high and healthy sperm count. In May of this year I underwent an ovary diathermy operation to try and stimulate my ovaries. My specialist is planning clomid for me in Jan 08, which I have taken a few years ago with a differant partner (we werent very sexually active with each other and he had issues that could have effected his sperm count, although this is unknown as he didnt have the sperm test... Thankfully conception didnt happen with him as he was most cirtainly not "the one").
I know clomid corrects my progesterone levels but I worry about having additions in my tubes (one being useless) and the thought of being childless is very painfull. My specialist says I will get pregnant but I think is he just saying that to keep me positive. After clomid im having IUI then failing that IVF...
Can anyone relate to any of this? I feel so alone with it at the moment. and just cant wait to get going with the clomid and have fun trying.

I wish you all the best with your own issues and I will leave a post with advise where I can... baby dust to you all

xx

Re: PCOS 1 tube and low progesterone

Hi Alleyanda and welcome to the boards.I am so sorry to hear about your issues.I dont know much about your issues because I dont have issues our issues are with DH.I can offer my support and I can tell you a little about going through IF treatment. We have done many IUI's with donor sperm and no luck yet.Going through IF is very emotional and stressful.I also can advise to saty positive because I feel if we think its not going to work then more then likely it wont.Just keep positive and try and stay in good spirits. The whole journey can really put a strain on you and maybe even your marriage so it is important to not let yourself get so caught up in the whole journey. This board is great there are so many great women who can offer support and advise. So stick around and you will see how great it is here and how wonderful all the women here are. Before I met all the wonderful ladies on this board I thought I was going to go crazy. Its so great to have these ladies to talk to and who understand exactly how you feel.I wish you luck with your treatment in the New Year and I will pray that you get your BFP.Take care and again welcome.

Mapia

Alleyanda
Here is something to make you feel better. I also have PCOS, although I have normal periods which seems to puzzle doctors. My DH has very poor sperm quality. We ahve had 3 failed IVFs.

Im taking a break from IVF for now.

Stay positive and STRONG.

You know when I started IVF I assumed it was going to be a quick fix to my baby problem. Little did I know. I didnt have any professsional support and to be honest IVF almost broke my soul. I think I concentrated all my energy on TTC (I hope this means 'trying to concieve'!), that I coulnt deal with the fact that it was not happening for me fast enough. I sometimes think if we IF suffering ladies were offered counselling right at the start of treatment, it would make a world of difference on how we deal with the ups and downs. Anyway, I found this board and have come to realise that I am not alone. You too, are also not alone.

Re: PCOS 1 tube and low progesterone

Hi dearest and welcome to the boards! I'm sorry you have so many issues, but don't forget to stay strong and think positively You have come to the right place for support! Don't worry too much about what happens if Clomid fails, and if IUI fails--- for all we know, you could get pg on the very first cycle of Clomid! I know it's very optimisitic, but we never know! And it is good that you have a backup plan.

I have PCOS and I underwent ovarian drilling about two weeks ago to stimulate my ovaries, and I am currently in the waiting period to start ttc again and waiting for my post-op appt. (which isn't until Jan 08!) That's just a little background on me.

I'm glad you're here---not glad of IF--- and I certainly hope you can get pregnant reallly soon after you take the Clomid, and you can start the New Year with a BFP!!
