low progesterone - Infertility Message Board

Hi all!
After my 2ww I had a blood test done today. Turns out that my hcg level is high enough to qualify as pregnancy, but progesterone level is quite low, about 6. Has anyone dealt with this before? I already started taking prometrium and trying to stay optymistic but my doc says it migh be chemical pregnancy. Actualy, at this point he's not sure yet..

Hi VitaminC and welcome to the boards. I unfortunatley cannot answer your question regarding your progesterone levels. I have not heard of a level being at 6 but then also being pg. I hope someone here can answer your question.

Did you have an IUI or conceive naturally? If you had an IUI, my RE usually checks the progesterone 7 days after to check and make sure you can hold a pregnancy. Good luck. Hope it sticks.

I had IUI over 2 weeks ago. Week after IUI my progesterone level was high, about 40. At that time I was also given a shot of hormone to boost the progesterone level. But week later, it just dropped sooo much.I don't understand.
