Anyone taken Lupron for 3 weeks? - Infertility Message Board

Hi there,

I started taking the ovary-suppressing drug, Lupron 2 weeks ago...and now I've been told I haven't responded quickly enough and have to take it for another week! This means I will start on Follestim on April 16th.

Has anyone had to take ovary-suppressing drugs for 3, rather than 2 weeks? I'm sick of the side-effects: tiredness & feeling miserable, though this could also be the result of the IVF treatment stress...

I've started doing the injections first thing in the morning, before I get out of bed. Much less painful!

I just did my 3 rd IUI and am currenly doing the TTW.
my RE had me on a very lo dose of Lupron which he calls a flare.
I start on day 3 of my cycle + take it every day along with my Repronex. Approx 10-11 days later when follies are big enough I stop both Lupron + Repronex + do the HCG then IUI . I'm not really sure what the lo dose of Lupron is for

sorry to hear about your delay. Just look on the bright side- you are only delayed about a week as opposed to another month!

I go tomorrow to the RE after being on the Lupron for 2 weeks. I guess they will also check my lining and other things. On my protocol, I am supposed to reduce my Lupron by 1/2 and start follistim in the pm. 6 amps!! holy cow, I think that is alot. I guess because I am old..lol

I have had no side effects from the Lupron and have been working out like crazy and drinking tons of water. I am not sure if that is helping. I will say that I have not gotten used to the injections and complain every morning to my DH. In the morning I guess my stomach if flatter than normal and he is having a hard time grabbing any fat (so he says). I have to bend over so I can get a roll going. What a sight. All bleary eyed with my not so sexy pajamas on bending over the tub. Should be interesting when it comes time for those huge, enormous butt shots.

Keep your chin up. Everything will work out for you. Have a couple of McVities biscuits and a nice cup of tea before bed.
