Whew! feel like I got hit by a mack truck today! - Infertility Message Board

Well.......after hours and hours of waiting to hear if LAP IS COVERED!!....IT IS ,whew,,,thankfully...BUT theyre giving me cr** left and right about covering infertility costs..
It is a long story...but in a nutshell..Wel will be getting BC of Massachusetts! where IVF IS EVEN covered!!!!!!!!! all injectibles all u/s all procedures....even IVF is covered which runs about what..10,000 grand a shot>> yay!!
It is a law mandated in the state of MAss that infertility be covered.!!!!!!!!!!!
which states...........mandates insurance carriers cover COMPREHENSIVE INFERTILITY DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT, including assisted reproductive technology procedures...
I am very happy right now,, It will cost us about 500.00 a month for a couple plan as they call it..so we will get rid of that nasty bc/bs thru virginia! and get into this. It is worth every penny knowing the insurance will cover it.. Hopefully everything will be all set to start injectibles in may..but if not ill start in June!.. Ill keep everyone posted.! I feel like a weight has been lifted., My poor husband has really been determined to find out things..and do the detective work........hes a good egg (so to speak LOL)!!!I cant wait until tomorrow is over..and I will let u all know how the lap went.
Jody! We are actually going thru freedom drug! thats when we found out they werent covering the drugs too!!(after being told we had been pre approved already) then to hear no You are not covered!!) but we fixed it...yay!!!
and glad to hear u are doubling with your hcg levels! I told you you are going to be ok!!! ( i still think ur gonna have twins) hehe!!

Makes you crazy right?? I always have to call and ask if I need referrals for this and do I need referrals for that. Sorry to say, but if I get a man on the phone I hang up and call back and hope for a woman. When I called to get the "lowdown" on what my ins. co. covered, I got 2 different answers from 2 different people. Sometimes if I get a man on the phone I start asking a million questions about sperm analysis and post coital testing just to embarass them (tee-hee). I know it is mean, but it makes me feel better.

Anyway, good luck tomorrow. Don't worry about anything. It is over before you know it. And don't feel bad about riding the "sympathy train" with your DH after the surgery. I bent over a little bit more than I had to and complained about my scars...guess what? I got new pots from William and Sonoma as a gift. I didn't feel bad because he benefits from it since I cook him dinner everynight.

Wish u all the best for your lap....I am praying that they don't find anything wrong with u.After your surgery take a good rest and u will be fine within 2-3 days.I enjoyed a wonderful time after my lap because my DH pampered me like anything.He cooked delicious food for me and was constantly beside me. I simply enjoyed it and had a wonderful time.....
