Kramers, the HSG is not a very big issue. Here's how mine went...
I went into x-ray with my family doc and the tech doing the procedure. They insert dye through the cervix while you all watch on a monitor. You'll see the dye progressing up into the uterus, through the tubes (this is what they are checking for to look for blockages) then the dye spills out the ends of the fallopian tubes and that's it! You might experience some mild cramping afterward but if you take some regular painkillers at least 20 minutes prior to the process and continue with painkillers afterward, it will alleviate any mild cramping dramatically. Take a snooze after it's over. The really neat thing about an HSG is that you will get to see what your reproductive organs look like from a very unique perspective.
I'll be praying your HSG comes out perfectly and that like myself, you will conceive easily after that. I didn't believe the doc & Tech when they told me I would but in my case they were right!
Wishing you the very best!!!
