First IUI tomorrow! - Infertility Message Board

I go tomorrow for my first IUI. DH and I are both well - no problems, just "old" eggs (I'm 40). After taking the Clomid, I showed 7 follicles on the U/S but only one that was big enough today to release an egg. R/E says the other two that are relatively close in size could reach 18mm by tomorrow - so I got the shot today for ovulation. Does anyone out there have any info or experience with this?

Hi,

I had IUI 3 times as part of my fertility tx protocol 7 years ago. It's no big deal--kind of like a pap smear. I felt a tiny bit of cramping during the insemination, and about 30 min later I felt a sharp cramp on each side as an air bubble exited the ends of the tubes. Other than that, no problem at all.

ps--It worked--I now have a first grader!
