How much Robitussin? - Infertility Message Board

Heya, sorry to bother everyone again, but I am the nervous possessor of a follicle which is measuring 18 as of today, so if the Clomid actually does its entire job, I'll be ovulating late this weekend/early next week (currently it's day 12). The thing that's making me freaked out now is that I have no mucus, none, which is one of Clomid's less happy side effects and doesn't bode well. I've been taking Robitussin since day 9; the first two days I took three spoonfuls a day (regular table spoon) - when that didn't work I switched to six and have done that the last two days. Am I overdoing it/underdoing it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

You are taking far to much meds. before you talk anything you should do some research on it, Your med is adictive so please look into using somthing else!! Remember you only get one body for a life time so take care of it. Good luck and God Bless

I took 2 tablespoons three times a day when I took it. I couldn't actually tell a difference in my CM but it did work! Another thing is.....if your dh is willing, take it SLOW and just work your way up to a lot of CM in addition to the Robitussin.

You are using the PLAIN Robitussin, right? Don't use any of the DM or any others.

Thanks, pumpkinpatch! And yes, I'm using the plain robitussin - poor DH, he was standing next to me at the drugstore while I rifled through about two shelves' worth of Robitussin variants - "No, this has other stuff in it, I want JUST guaifenisin" (or however you spell it).

That's really reassuring - the odd thing is, I've been *feeling* like I'm producing some mucus, but I come up dry every time. And unfortunately it looks like the OPK isn't working for me - the Clomid gives me false positives, so we'll probably just have to toss the OPK for now and try the every-other-night and crossed-fingers approach. Thanks again!

I do not produce a lot of CM myself, and I just read about a couple that used egg whites and conceived. It may sound a bit yucky, but let the egg warm up to room temperature, and then inject it before BD (you could use one of those syringe-like things that come in yeast infection packages). I haven't tried it, but I'm up to anything at this point. Good luck!
