Unhappy 4 years no baby

This might sound a little bad, but I've been trying to have a baby since I was 16, and I couldn't get pregnant. Now that I'm married, and I'm ready to start a family I can't get pregnant. My hubby and I have been together for almost 4 years, and we stopped using condoms 2 years ago. I don't know what to tell him, because I know the problem could be me. I went to a gynecologist a year ago and she told me my ovaries looks fine, I have nothing to worry about.

should I go see a doctor about this, and what kind of test will she/he do on me?

This is so depressing, and I don't know what to do. What if the doctor tells me I can't have kids?

First call and set up an appointment to talk about pregnancy and getting pregnant. While you wait for the appointment day read the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It could be simply that you and your dh arent timing sex at the right times for you. Start charting your cycles following the info in the book.
When you see your dr explain that you havent used any protection in the past two years and you are concerned now about fertility issues.
Secondly it may not be you,it could very easily be your dh. It does take two to make a baby and so there could very easily be a problem with him or with both. So ask him to go see his doctor and get a check up done. The book will tell you all the tests that both you and he should get done. It is best to start with your dh because his tests are easier and less invasive that the ones you will be facing.
Again read that book and it can give you tons of info to help you and to help your doctor figure out what is going on as well.

Hi! I would skip my regular gynocologist and go straight to an RE. They can tell you so much more by just simple bloodwork! If all looks good with you, they will probably want to do a sperm anaysis on your husband, which is painless! It's amazing what you can find out from talking to someone who specialized in infertility! Good luck!

More than anything - Relax!

My husband and I went 5 yrs of TTC with no success. We tried the old fashioned way; we didn't even consider artifical intervention. I was in my late 20s, my dh was 30. We kept an eye on my cycle but nothing ever happened. There weren't miscarriages; just nothing. Once my 32nd birthday went by, I was totally convinced that the dr. was right and we wouldn't have children. Then whammo BFP out of the blue! We now have 2 beautiful, healthy daughters ages 5 1/2 and 3 1/2. Actually, I just got pregnant again (at 38!) when we weren't even TTC; but unfortunately I miscarried our 3rd child. My point is just that there's no rythme or reason to fertility or guarantees. Try to relax and pay attention to your cycle. Stress, obsession and worry won't help the process, or your relationship .
