What supplements to take during IVF?

I will start my IVF soon, what supplements should I take to prepare? Some women suggested Royal Jelly, fish oil, L-carnitine, L-Arginine, DHEA and prenatal. I am currently taking royal jelly, CQ10, L-Arginine and prenatal.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Coco

Re: What supplements to take during IVF?

Hi Coco,

I can't remember if I read this or was told this but..I was told to take extra folic acid. You can just get folic acid by itself. However, I just also found out that taking too much of supplement can be bad so I'm now researching how much is too much. I also took extra calcium and baby aspirin. Hope this helps.

Re: What supplements to take during IVF?

Thanks, Jess. The prenatal I take now has 800mcg folic acid, but very low calcium, I might need to take extra calcium too....
btw, congrats on your good news...

Another thing that I read is that you shouldn't take the extra calcium at the same time as the prenatal. Apparently the iron in the prenatal blocks the absorption of calcium so take one in the morning and the other maybe in the afternoon or evening.

Re: What supplements to take during IVF?

Hi Coco, your doctor should tell you what supplements to take, and make sure you let him know of anything you are already taking. You can ask him/her to prescribe you a very good prenatal, which a good one can go to up to 70 $/ bottle, but you know it has all you need and has the best results. As for any herbal suplements, I heard they can interfere with the medicated cycles and so they are not recomended, so better be safe.
Good luck,
Mady
