14 mths on....A DIAGNOSIS! - Inner Ear Disorders Message Board

So all, I was told today that although my ENG was within normal limits, I have delayed compensation due to Lab...I also have an element of BPPV. The ENT was brilliant I must say and explained he sees a lot of people like me who have not compensated after the initial injury...So he has referred me for VRT and has also advised me to have grommets put in my ears as the Lab has created some eustacian/pressure problems. May well do that.

He said the dizziness getting worse with colds was def inner ear as was flying experience - he said flying with an inner ear problem is like kicking a broken leg!!! He ruled out brain, neck, TMJ.

I am pleased. Finally someone knows what's wrong (and he is renound for dizziness - asked to see him!) and I am not going mad! And something is being done to make me better! Thanks to everyone for their support in the past and in the future xxx

what a happy thing...to finally know! congratulations, now you will get better with the right treatment!
what were your symptoms....as i am new i am not sure i have read them! congratulations again....where is this doctor and was he or she a regular ent? lib

Hi Em,

I am happy you finally got a diagnosis. It will really help with your anxiety. Can you tell me what grommets are and how they might help you? How was the ENT able to tell u you had BPPV? Did he say it was normal with delayed compensation to have full ears. My ears are always so full, they are driving me crazy! They do get worse with colds and it seems I get them so often.

Take good care of yourself and let us know if the VRT works and what you find out.

Hi Emma,

I am soooooo pleased that they acknowledged YES these crazy weird symptoms are all part of this inner ear problem. i have to say that our symptoms are soooooooo similiar i was not all surprised by your diagnosis especially since we both had Lab's that kicked this off.

Your texts have been such a comfort - these symptoms are so odd you really think is this possible?

I pray that these VRT exercises are the key and you are like me............we are sooooooo young why have we failed to compensate........its weird........but I think its just a question of time.
