Stroke and Inner ear damage

I'm looking for some ideas if anyone has heard of inner ear damage due to a stroke. I had a stroke in August 2004 and have been dizzy ever since. I had an ENT done and they discovered vestibular damage in my left ear, which I know I never had before the stroke. I'm looking to find out if anyone has ever heard of a stroke doing this.

Hi

These two web pages on the server of Dr Hain's(Northwestern Univ) web site(preapproved by Mod) located in the "sticky" above---might help shed some light on it....

Don't think it would be unusual....

Re: Stroke and Inner ear damage

Yes, I have heard of that. My doctor said that a person can have a small stroke in the brain stem that can damage the nerve. Sometimes it is so small, it can't be seen on Ct scan/MRI.
