Thoughts on Lexapro...Subs, Scott...

Hi everyone--

I have taken Prozac, Effexor, and Paxil in the past--none of them have helped me at all....does Lexapro fall into the category of any of these medicines I have already taken or is it a totally different kind of medicine?? Thanks!

Hi Schao,

Yup, it sure does. All that you mentioned are from the SSRI family or "selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors". Lexapro is the same too. When you say they haven't helped you, do you mean with the dizziness only or is there also anxiety with this you have been trying to get under control?

Cheers....Scott

Re: Thoughts on Lexapro...Subs, Scott...

Scott,

By not helping me I mean with the dizziness. I have tried all of those, and my doctor just had me try Verapamil--and I got even more lightheaded on that, so I was just wondering if Lexapro maybe had a different component in it or something. Thanks for helping.

schao
