Inner ear infection cause rapid heart rate? Help

Hi everyone..
I am 25, female...7 months post partum, 3 months post gallbladder removal...
For the last two months I have been getting extreme head pressure when i stand up, then my heart pounds and races.
Tonight I was at the ER...they seen that my heart rate speeds up from sititng 88 bpm to 150, then if i sit it goes back down...they ran tests and said maybe its an inner ear problem..i have terrible sinuses and allergies..but i never heard of inner ear problem causing rapid heart rate...

Does this sound familiar to anyone..
I am really really scared and just want my normal life back!! I see my PCP on the 28th and i dont want to be just brushed off as anxiety.

Thanks everyone

Missy

Missy, have a look on sharp blue labyrinthitis page 5, just put that into google, go to the bottom of the page and you will see that someone has just posted with the same as you. She too ended up in hospital. Might help to see that you are not the only one.

Re: Inner ear infection cause rapid heart rate? Help

Hi, I have been having fullness in my head accompanied by rapid heart rate on and off, 88 then 76 then 84. It is not so high but I can feel it. I used to have itching and ringing in both ears, now I have fullness in my head and a sensation like there is air coming out of both ears some times. It really incapacitates me. I feel so desperate. I have attributed it to my being premenopausal, but I guess it is my inner ear. What do you all think?

charito: You might not have much luck from the rapid heart rate angle. Below 100bpm at rest is considered normal. Mine is 95 at rest which is fine.
