I have been dealing with really bad headaches, head pressure, lightheadedness, etc. everyday for 14 months now. It never goes away. Sometimes it gets a little better, but it doesn't dissappear. I have went to many many doctors,including neurologists, neurosurgeons, lyme doc, etc. I have had many tests ran including brain mri, brain angiogram, spinal tap, bloodtests galore, etc. The only diagnosis so far is migraine variant, and possible lyme disease. Can Menieres disease cause this kind of thing? Or any other ear problems? Noone really knows what it is, or how to treat it. I've tried so many meds, to no avail. I can't drive anymore, and I have 3 kids. I stay so lightheaded ( not vertigo) and dizzy, that I can't even go to any of their school related things, or be around people or movements because of this. It's ruining my life. Please help. I also have really bad eye floaters, and sometimes it feels like I have water or fluid trickling in my ears, but I never see any and neither has the doctors I've seen. My eyes are fine also.
hi i have similar symptoms to you, and so far specialist has said it is Vestibular migraine. Although i dont get migraines very often, you can still get the aura. Dizziness is part of the aura. I too am lightheaded and dizzy 24/7 and have been this way for 18 months now. My doc had it as anemia when pregnant, but after baby born it still persisted. To be honest i dont think my doc knew and then referred me.What are your headaches like? I get headaches somedays and somedays i dont. I maybe wake with one or get one at end of day. Sometimes they feel like they start near my eyes and alot of the time i can feel them in the neck area.Have you tried taking supplements? I take ginko biloba and magnesium.Stated taking them maybe 2 months ago and am noticing small improvement.I used to have days when all i wanted to do was stay indoors "safe", but then i was letting it rule me. So now i force myself and when i do go out i feel so much better. Alot of it is anxiety and that can make the problem a whole lot worse.I also stopped driving,but in last 3 weeks have started again and it feels like my life is coming back to me.Try going out with another adult as a shapperone so to speak. I did just so i knew someone else was there in case i fell etc. It boosed my confidence and now i feel ok alone.Sometimes i pretend someone is there when i am driving and it helps me on days when i feel a bit off.

Menieres Disease could conceivably (and likely) cause a headache during a spell of vertigo, due to the stress of the situation but certainly why you describe is very very unlikely. Also MD causes hearing loss - always. If there is no hearing loss, Menieres Disease is not the diagnosis according to the current guidelines for diagnosing the disease.
What meds have you tried? Have they specifically been migraine preventatives? Your symptoms fit well with what a lot of people with vestibular migraine experience. Have you tried the migraine diet?
Dizziness is not necessarily anything to do with the aura. Dizziness can occur independent of headaches, and noone has shown that chronic dizziness is a migraine aura. It CAN occur as an aura, but most of the time it doesn't. It is more likely that chronic dizziness is due to unrelenting migraine activity in the brain (dysfunctioning ion channels, vasospasm, whatever it may be).
I can relate. I also have 3 kids. I am not as active in their school as I would like to because I don't feel so well. I do drive, and actually do most things that a "normal" person would do. But I have some sort of dizziness/off balance/headache feeling every day. I try to ignore it and "look normal" for my kids sake. I don't want them worrying about Mom. I do get snippy with them quicker than I would have; my patience is low and I just have difficulty concentrating so I get irritable quickly.
Try to get some vestibular testing from an ENT or neurotologist. I think that is the first step. Then they can see if you have any inner ear damage, then they can try to diagnose you from there.

I am going to make an appt with a neurotologist (an inner ear specialist-they're a tough specialty to find). I have gone to 2 ENT's and have an appt with a neurologist in a few weeks, but after thinking about it, I don't want to waste any more time, I'd like to go to someone that I know is going to understand what I'm telling him.

wannarun is your dizziness like a kind of disorientated feeling? I wouldnt say mine is spinning (vertigo),its like a spacey odd feeling.Is so hard to explain.
