Hi guys!! I am doing great! I am not what you would call sompletely 100% with my balance. I can still get spells - but its all very brief and so normal now that it doesn't bother me much. I tend to feel abit off if I am tired and things like - sitting at work on a twirly chair can make me feel a bit off - but I just 'now it so well' that I pay it little attention. In between these bits and bobs I feel completely normal. How about you how are you doing? I do think of you all! I lost my password for ages and finally sent for it yesturday - hence posting but I do look in and out of the pages now and again - to see how you are all getting on! The kids are great - thanks and the business has really taken off and is doing amazingly well! Great to catch up !! xx

Re: Willsmomm!!

Hi Treefarmer,

Popped on and saw you and Willsmomm were on the boards. So thought I'd say hello. Hope your vision problems get sorted out and that it is only the lovely wonders of getting older and becoming a little near sighted.

Take care!!!

For Willsmomm -

It is nice to see you popping back in to say hello. I'm glad you are still doing well. I have a couple of questions for you. When reading through your old posts and speaking to you in the past, it seems as if that 3 year mark was really the turning point for you. Am I right? Also, CL mentioned at one time that you were getting headaches more recently. Do they still seem to be bothersome and how frequent?

I'm glad you posted about CL. I was wondering how she was getting along these days. Really puzzling that she is still dizzy all the time but I give her so much credit for moving along with her life. Tell her I said hello and am wishing her wellness.

Best to you.......Gloria

Hey Gloria - long time no see! how lovely to hear from you! To answer your questions. Yes 3 years was a turning point for me - but for SURE I would have got better sooner if I had - 1. Understood that I was not dying and thus let go of all the fear, 2. Got moving and not stayed still 3. Had an epley done sooner and 4. not had a baby whilst I was still dizzy!

Once I realised what it was.....and probably more importantly what it wasn't - I just got on and it went away. Its weird a major part of getting better for me was truelly - believing - that it would happen. But to answer your question - yes 3 years was the turning point for me! By that I do not mean at all that wishing it away helped - simply that I made up my mind to get on and get over it. Every day my focus was on challenging he dizzyness and welcoming it - safe in the knowledege that this is the key to recovery!

Headache wise - geezzzz nightmare - a real royal pain and makes me feel yuck! Its migraines - I was diagnosed with a transformed migraine - it was every day for ohhh a good 6 months. I even ended up getting aother MRI done at the neuro request. It would go between the severe neck pain, then left sided head pain only- nausea, feeling weird - numbness, tiredness etc etc - this would then wear off (after 4 days) then I would just get a chronic dull headache. I have been back and fore getting migraine advise. Hmmmm best they can say is - that it may pass after the menopause - oh deep joy so only another 20 years to wait lol! The headache do upset the dizzys in terms of making me feel off etc. I have been told to get them under control as it upsets compensation......but I keep hoping they will just go away. I have had a migraine twice over the past week and today its gone. Okay that was a rabble!! sorry. x

Re: Willsmomm!!

Hi Ilia,

I didn't realise you had migraine hanging around like this, nor did I know you'd had an Epley done in the past. You obviously had a bout of BPPV yes? Or did they do an Epley just to cover the bases?

You know there is a real pattern emerging from a number of us on this board over the past few years where VN/labs strikes followed by the rise of migraine (and with that a side order of BPPV). More and more I think this is a real timeline that this disease follows for many of us.

I'm about to see a specialist (neuroto) this morning about all of this. I wouldn't doubt that migraine is now responsible for the small blips you're experiencing here and there. Have you done things like follow a migraine diet etc? Have a look at some of the posts by Howie. He went through the same deal as you and I but added Verapamil to the mix. He's a solid 100% now once migraine was removed from the equation.

Best...Scott x

Re: Willsmomm!!

Thanks Ilia for your responses. One last question as I am just curious if the headaches started within a 6 month time frame after getting better from the labs?

Have a good day.......Gloria

Hi - no.....I have had migraine issues since I was 18 - so thats 15 years! However they used to be very different - I would get the aura symptoms only and no headache......say 2 times a year.

Then they changed to full on aura + migraine pain for next few years.

Now I dont get the classic aura (zig zag lights etc) tend to get v v v v v v sore neck pain that then spreads to right side of head, feel sick, ill etc etc.

Then the transformed migraine is like bouts of severe pain mixed in with tension type sore heads, albeit no over the counter meds would shift either.

All I know is that when I get a migraine I feel dizzy and grotty etc and a bit off for a while.

Thanks,
Ilia
