Eyes constantly moving

Have any of you had this symptom? My eyes move constantly. Its not a true nystagmus I'm told from people looking at my eyes, but I do think its a consistent lateral movement to the right.

This happens whether my eyes are open or closed.

Thanks for any input you all might have!

Joni

Re: Eyes constantly moving

My left eye floats out to the side sometimes when I look at something close or if I let my eyes relax. My optitrician said it was from overuse of computers.
I get double vision from it sometimes.
do you use the computer a lot? Do you have double vision?

I do use the computer a lot. I don't have double vision though. It has been since this whole VN hit. Its improved a lot, initially my eyes were constantly darting around, now I can focus for a couple of seconds before they move away. Its still pretty significant though.

I have not been on the boards in awhile, so pardon me if this is already in here and I have not read it yet; however, did you ever get to the vision specialist?
Were they able to help you correct any of that or give you any answers?

I have an appointment in a couple of weeks for an assessment. It has taken a while to get in. I am started the vision therapy the week after that. Last time I saw her I was just starting the the homeopath, which helped me tremendously after a several month bad period, so we decided not to start the vision therapy at that point. Now she is planning on reassessing me all together and then starting.

She was more focussed on traditional vision issues, my lack of convergence, the strabisumus, than my eye movement problems. I don't know what she will come up with regarding the inability to focus statically.

I have been doing the VRTs again for 3 weeks now, twice a day. Its changing in baby steps, but I think it is helping. I can now do x1 holding the card rather than having it far away. I still need the letter pretty large and I have to go incredibly slow, but then I can keep it from moving. Up and down is easier than side to side.

I still can't focus my eyes for more than a couple of seconds, but the involuntary movement away from what I'm focussing on is less strong, they don't move as far, and I can at times refocus on the same object. I guess after 16 months of either no VRTs or doing them wrong baby step changes are to be expected???

Re: Eyes constantly moving

The three week mark tends to get frustrating, hold on and keep working. Weeks four and five are better. I am curious to hear about the vision therapy. I think you will have good results. I wish you the best,
M
