Hsv
is hsv the virus that causes the chicken pox? i remember being told that it is. i remember reading and being told that vn and labs is likely caused by reactivation of the hsv virus and that 80 to 90% of the population has this virus and it lays dornment in your body.

HSV is a Herpes Simplex Virus but chickenpox is caused by VZV - Varicella Zoster Virus (it has another name - HHV-3 - Human Herpes Virus). VZV is closely related to HSV but not the same.

Everyone who had chickenpox has VZV virus dormant in their nervous system.
