hey everyone. latley ive been feeling alot better.
my question is this. mostly when im working myself up or worrying about something i get tightness feeling on the sides of my neck. it feels like pressure or like the muscles are being pulled down. does anyone else get that? is that anxiety? the only other thing i can think of is maybe swollen lymph nodes but aren't those higher on the neck?
Its sooo common for people to hold tension in their traps, the muscles on the top of your shoulders that connect from your back to your neck. The muscles feel like they're pulling down because they are contracting. You can try some heat or a hot shower to calm it down. Also deep breathing to calm yourself down could help.
If you have extra cash I would go for a massage. That would def help. Or like jonimichelle said, warm water or even take a bath. My chiropractor said to use ice, I have been and it does help....but I think switching heat and cold is the key.
definitely! i went and had a massage for that reason, and it helped. what she did was take a hot damp towel (throw a wet one in the microwave) and lay it across the achy parts. i would get some lavendar oil to calm it as well, that is what my massage therapist suggested and used...it worked great with the hot damp towel! just rub in onto the troubled areas and THEN put on the hot damp towel....awesome! try it at home if ya don't want to spend a bunch of loot good luck!
