Tea Tree Oil for fungus in ear

I experienced terrible pain in my right ear over the July 4th weekend. I went to see an ENT and he sucked a piece of Q-Tip swab out of my ear. I have no idea how long it had been there, but it looked pretty gross. The doctor said that I had three holes in my eardrum and a fungal infection. He put me on Amoxicillin and Floxin ear my last checkup, the fungas was still present. He then told me to try drops ( two at bedtime) that are actually used for toenail fungus. I still feel as though I have blockage in my ear and I was wondering about trying Tea Tree Oil...can it be used safely in the ears?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Tea Tree Oil for fungus in ear

Hi..I can't imagine the pain you you've been in.

Please use the meds the doc gave you. You need to get rid of the infection firstly.

Do you have an aversion to antibiotics? Why are you wanting to use other preparations?

Just wanting to understand better.

It's all a matter of perspective!
