Question labrynthitis

My daughter started complaining of being dizzy (she said the room was spinning) and nausea. She said that it came on all of a sudden. On our way home, she started throwing up and did so about 4 times that evening. Today, she isn't throwing up but says she is still dizzy when she turns her head quickly or rolls over when laying down. The dr. did a cbc and a tympanogram (sp) and said that it all looked good....he said that there may be a little virus but other than that, everything checked out well. Would the tymp show labrynthitis or is it "deeper" in the canal? He did mention the labry. before he did the test as a possibility. Thanks for any input.

Re: labrynthitis

Could be bvvp....

Sounds like you should take her to an ent/neuro....that knows the vestibular system...

Wishing her the best.

Re: labrynthitis

Hi,

Labyrinthitis is unlikely if there's no hearing loss or tinnitus. Feeling dizzy while rolling over on bed or going to bed or looking up at a shelf is a symptom of BPPV (benign paroxymal positional vertigo).

But it could be Vestibular Neuritis as well.

Check with an otologist/neurotologist.

Best
