Hi
In Australia they are doing research on ears and panic attackes, they say there is a big connection to the two
I have had dizziness that varies from being off balance and airy headed to spinning so bad that i fell to the floor on numerous occassions
been to that many ENT specialists who after a few simple tests said they dont think i have meniers and as soon as they find out i have suffered from panic attackes since i was 21 they put my dizziness down to panic and anxiety
I always have ear problems, blocking ringing and making me feel locked inside my head
, have you noticed that on the day your ears are blocked or feel a strange sensation in them that you will feel a quick sense of terror then stay anxious for the rest of the day, It even causes a sense of unreality
I also get affected by the weather, if it's cloudy or raining then i get that locked in dizzy feeling, my muscles go tight and rigid and i hold myself so tight i feel like my bones will break
Asthma and allergies play up more when my ears are unbalanced
my equalibrium is so out of whack
anyone relate

When your ears are blocked up do you get a smelly green, watery fluid in them. Then as it starts to clear; when you swallow you can hear the cracking of fluid breaking down in your ears ??????
Hi where can I read information on this research in Austrailia ?
I have anxiety and panic attacks and some kind of ear problems.
Today I have been sneezing alot and feel off balance and my ear feels slightly uncomfortable, I remember when i had my FIRST ever panic attack 5 years ago, my ears felt full of pressure and I remember going to the gp and asking him why i felt so dizzy and my ears felt blocked. He said it all looked ok ?
There seems to be lots of people on here who feel the same ,
makes you wonder doesnt it ?
Hi
They are doing the research at the Armidale University in nsw
I emailed them once but they did not give me much information except admit that they were doing research into that area and the results had not been concluded yet, that was last year and i have heard no more since. It maybe time for me to ring them again.
How long have you had this dizzy unbalanced equalibrium? have they diagnosed you with anything at all?
. they did tell me that as well as the anxiety i had estachion tube dysfunction, and bad sinuses, nasal polyps and rhinitis but still claimed my dizzy head was due to anxiety,
Do you get asthma as well? asthma is made worse when your ears are blocked
best of luck

HI,
Yes i will ring them up and see how the research about ears and anxiety went or is still going
If you dont mind me asking,. how old are you and for how long have you had these symptoms?
maybe i need to get some back ground on sufferers so when i ring the university i can quote how a lot of people i have spoken to suffer the same symptoms as me. and describe the symptoms
Do you get a feeling like a lump in your throat and burning tonsils that are not infected but sting anyway,
Do you have swallowing problems and/or a tight throat
does your ears ring, sting and cause equalibrium problems
anything else i can tell them will help immensily
cheers Golden_eagle
