Hey Joni...

Hey there...

I was wondering how you are?

My symptoms have elevated a bit...caught a cold last week. What symptoms I deal with now are...whirry/woozy head esp. when I move my head, depth perception issues still, also when my head is still just moving my eyes to the left give me an off feeling. Stores/busy places still make me off.

How are you doing? What symptoms are you still dealing with? You have done such a great job!! Can I ask how old you are?

Honestly, we are getting there...it is just darn slow. Are you still doing vrts? If so, what ones (if you don't mind me asking).

Wishing you the best!

Hi Charlotte. I'm prety much the same. But I also know that my progress is always so slow that I don't realize it till a month later. I still have the constant movement feeling. That is what bothers me the most. The world is still always moving. Its much more subtle but its still there. Stores don't bother me at all anymore. After being in a car for about 30 minutes or more my symptoms are elevated, but it goes away quickly. I had stopped working out and started up again last week- I'm definitely more sensitive again, but adapting to it all over again. My balance feels fine, but I'm still not good at the eyes closed exercises.

The VRTs I'm doing are:
1) focussing on a letter with head turns (up/down and left/right)
2)focussing on a letter and move it left when my head goes right, etc
3)repeat number one with a pattern behind the letter and standing heel/toe
4)standing heel-toe eyes closed
5)standing on one leg eyes closed

I'm also doing the vision therapy exercises. And now shoulder exercises. I feel like there's only time in the day to rehab!!! Plus I try to get some cardio and strengthening in too.

I have definitely been having a harder time emotionally with all this. Its just so slow that its hard to keep focus and to keep regimented to get in all the exercises everyday. I've always had energy problems and so it makes it even harder to keep it all up.

I hope you feel better from the cold soon. My cold only elevated my symptoms for a couple of days- recovering quickly now from things like that.

What VRTs are you doing?

Feel good!
Joni

Re: Hey Joni...

Thank Joni!

I can totally respect the emotional drain this takes. The past week I have been down too. I got this cold/lack of sleep due to the baby...and I felt I dropped. I have had terrible vor issues with this crap, so they seem the last to go. Honestly, sometimes I feel "will I be one of the ones who doesn't get to 100%?"...and then I get down.

My balance feels fine...I just feel woozy/not right...and it increases in stores or busy places. When I started...I felt I would hurl in those places...now I just feel strange.

I am doing the exact exercises as you...I have to add the busy backround one though. I walk, go out...dance with the baby...and played a bit of basketball yesterday. All in all...I am better, just feel off, and visually challenged.

The cold is still hanging on a bit, and I think it is dropping me a bit...

All in all, I am hanging in there. I am tired of this junk...but trying to stay strong.

Have you had days feeling 100%? It worries me that I have not. I have had moments, not days...I just weened the baby 1 month ago...I guess hormones could be affecting things.

Ahhh well...gotta keep going. You are doing great!

If I was 100% at one point, it was last summer, 2006. I was actually feeling good way back then, only 6 months into this. I was visually sensitive but otherwise felt good. I probably had still shut off my vestibular system. I had a busy weekend and something set me off. The "blip" that followed never ended. Since then I haven't been 100% at all, but over the past few months I have been consistently 95% with a couple of days here and there and moments here and there of feeling a bit worse. I am still waiting for at least a moment of that 100%!
