Help! Ear crackling/popping sounds when...

Hi everyone, newbie here... my ear problem has gotten so annoying that I've finally given up and decided to look for help. I hope someone can help!

So it's been maybe a year or so that I've been getting this crackling sound in my left ear whenever I watch a video on the computer. I've noticed that it only happens when I am doing that. (although some videos don't produce as much crackling as others) When I listen to music on the computer... it doesn't happen which strikes me as very strange. I'm thinking it might have something to do with frequencies??? I can't really explain the sound... but I would say it sounds kind of like popcorn popping...

=X i don't understand what may be wrong with me...
can anyone enlighten me?

ear popping and cracking sometimes has to do with your eustachian tubes. i have been told I have mild eustachian tube dysfuctnion because my ears pop/crack a lot. i can make them pop/crack as well. I used have problems with talking to people on the phone and having my ears crack when i talked to them. Only on the phone not in person. I'm not sure why. But that went away.Go see an ENT and see what they have to say. I bet it may be your eustachian tubes opening and closing
