I had a stapedectomy done in 1993........completely assymptomatic for 11 years
Then, while snorkeling under water at about 10 feet (in Hawaii), I came to the surface and felt extreme vertigo and offbalance.
This lasted one month and completely went away.
This has happened a couple of other times.........always seem related to pressure changes/flights et. al.
After multiple specialists, I finally got 3 diagnoses of the same nature.........POST STAPEDECTOMY PERILYMPH FISTULA.
I had surgery 9 days ago where the surgeon removed my old prostetic.
Also, he found a fractured oval window footplate starting at the apex of the old prostetic stapes.
He lasered it out completely , removed the prostetic, and grafted the hole and packed it.
Now my question:
Am I being WAY impatient to wanting to feel 100% by now?
I still feel foggy, dizzy, occasional nausea.
Do you think this fracture could of been the cause of all of my problems?
Would love to hear from some Experts out there and put my neurotic mind to rest
