| Re: Inner ear pressure and fullness with pain
Thanks for your reply to my earlier post. Actually the condition never goes away but it relieves down to a level I can tolerate at given times. It is as if my ear reacts with my sinus as one side locks up so goes the left ear, but there are times when the sinus are open, but the left ear feel fullness to the point of bursting and hearing loss(temporary). My condition actually becomes worst when I lay down at night. Went through a great deal of prescribed and over the counter medicine, moved out my home for a couple of weeks (testing for allergies), lost my lively hood due to the severity of my condition in 2005 and 20006. Still have never been given a correct diagnosis. From my own self study is why after 2 years I noticed that when I drink real coke, the problem is exacerbated greatly after a few cans over a couple of days. I used to drink coke for water basically. I know others that do the same. I just wanted to share something I discovered about my own condition. I have experimented with the starting and stopping of drinking coke 5 times just to make sure. When I drink non-caffeinated drinks, such as 7up and sprite, it does not aggravate the condition at all. So it leads me to believe that something in coke is not doing me any justice.
It all started in Feb 2005 when I developed the worst flu and sore throat I had ever had in my entire life. What happens with my condition is that when the condition flares up is that the estuation tubes close up for some reason and if this is allowed to continue, fluid will build up along with severe pressure and fullness as if the ear becomes infected and if this is allowed to happen it can go on for some time with sleepless nights and woes.
After having this for three years now, If and when I feel this coming on now, I immediately take something to relieve the clogged fluid feeling(psueudoephedrine) and for the swelling and inflammation(Ibuprofen).......
The above has allowed me to shorten my episodes and pain down to 24-48 hours instead of the many days and night of not being able to sleep or function.
Also wanted t mentioned that I have had the ringing and many different funny sounds in my left ear over the course but I do not have the vertigo or dizziness that is associated with meineres disease. I do have aches and soreness in the throat area that runs up into the left ear area occasionally. I think this is tied into some sort of virus, my personal belief.
Hopes this sheds some light into the situation and maybe help someone who is going through this horrible condition. After 12K out of pocket to doctors back in 2005 and many scans and test, it all came down to self diagnosis for myself.
