Depersonalisation/ Derealisation disorder

I came across the disorder on wikipedia by chance, and it seems to fit ' my out of it' feeling, especially when I am talking to somebody 1 on 1. I kind of dont feel I'm quite there a lot of the time.

It does say VN and Migraine can cause this feeling, but I was wondering whether I could just have this DD disorder. Guess it doesnt matter, as there is no way to treat it!

Anyone else feel like they cant wake up properly in the morning/day - I've been feeling so tired and groggy every day this past week like I cant wake up and am stuck in a haze. I've been on Citalopram for 2 weeks, so maybe its the side effects...

Re: Depersonalisation/ Derealisation disorder

DR--

I've had this feeling big time with my VN/MAV "syndrome"; it has gotten better with time and maybe with my supplements (I take 5htp to boost serotonin). In the past I had a similar feeling when I had quite severe anxiety and depression. Prozac made it go away (along with the anxiety and most of the blues), so I feel that SSRIs can be very useful for the out-of-body sensation. My feeling is that it is a neurochemical problem. I'll bet the body could eventually sort itself out with good diet/supplements/low stress, etc., but the meds are really wonderful for it, too.

Also, I absolutely hate that feeling--it's hard to carry on normally when one feels so not normal! I'll bet yours is a by-product of the migraine mayhem...

Violet
