Chewing Gum and "Head Symptoms"
Hi Board,
Maybe this will help someone out.
I am a pretty big gum chewer. I find that since I am physically more comfortable with some part of me being in motion, that the times that I am unable to move (example: work meeting), at least chewing gum keeps part of me active so I focus and notice that, rather than just sitting still and noticing my head symptoms.
I was recently told to stop chewing gum. It was explained to me that most people chew on one side of their mouth. Over time, this builds up the jaw muscle on one side, which can add to imbalance problems.
Since I have stopped chewing gum, I have noticed less headache sensations and tension around my jaws.
However, I am in physical therapy also, and I know that this also has something to do with a reduction in some of my symptoms.
I just wanted to pass this on. xo
