This is my first time posting here, I found this site on a search when I was looking for info on a problem I have been experiencing for some time now. I hop someone is able to help.

Im 25 and for several years now I have had problems with an itchy inner ear (my left ear). I spoke to a doctor about it back in 2005, who advised that it was most likely linked to hayfever that I experience and that antihistamines should solve the problem.

They didnt solve the problem however, the only releif I could ever attain was from sticking my finger in my ear and jiggling it or holding my nose and blowing out through it to make my eardrums pop (as crazy as that sounds).

Recently however, when I get the itchiness in my inner ear, I also get what can only be described as a twinge or an itchy feeling behind my left eye. Additionally, when I close my eyes when I am trying to sleep, I get 'flashes' of light every 10 or 15 seconds. Also when my eye is open, it sometimes goes blurry or out of focus.

I read a few posts on these forums about people who had described these symptoms seperately, but have not heard of someone experiencing these simultaneously.

When I explained this to my doctor, he looked at me as if I was crazy. He had me perform several eyesight tests but my vision is apparently perfect (when the problem is not occuring).

I am going to book myself in to see an eye specialist, but wasnt sure if I should book myself in to see another type of specialist.

Does anyone else experience these same issues? Or can anyone tell me what the think/feel may be causing this? It would be great to go back to my doctor with some possible causes for him to further investigate.
