I had a nasty virus last year that lasted 2 months. Then I got a lot better, but I keep having relapses, albeit milder. The ENt diagnosed it as Viral Labyrinthitis because I was taking 16 mg of Serc, and I got better.I feel better for two weeks (although not 100%), then I get flu-like symptoms. or colds then my symptoms come back. My head feels like it's full of cotton and I feel like I'm walking on marshmallows. My sinuses often hurt. My question is, is your immune system really compromised as a result of this? I often feel like I'm on the verge of the flu, but then it goes away. The weather seems to affect it. Is this normal?

Re: labyrinthitis

Your symptoms sound similar to mine. I had vestibular neuritis last year but I have had lingering episodic symptoms, like yours, that seem worse when the weather is hot and humid or I have some sort of allergy/sinus flare-up. My doctor thinks that I may have developed migraine associated vertigo so I am going to try a migraine preventative drug to see if it helps.

You may want to see if you can get in to see a neuro-otologist, who specializes in dizziness.

Good luck and hope you feel better.
