This is one of the strangest and most depressing things that I´ve experienced. I have some kind of balance disorder that makes me feel like gravity suddenly disappears, then comes back, along with a constant feeling of swaying. I feel like this 24 hours a day. It feels like I´m rocking to my pulse and breathing and when I close my eyes my body feels unreal. The only place where I feel better is in a car, where I don´t notice the swaying. No matter how hard I try to tell my brain how things are, my world never stands still. I´ve had this for over 6 months now and doctors haven´t been able to figure anything out. Something´s been wrong with my ears, especially the left one, tinnitus, feelings of fullness and sensitivity to sound. Two ear doctors have insisted there´s nothing wrong with my ear since there doesn´t seem to be any fluid in the middle ear and a test for the balance organs gave ok results. I went to a neurologist, we did an MRI and some other tests and he said that there´s nothing wrong with me.
I´ve been depressed for over ten years and I know it can cause dizziness, but this is different. Depression causes tension and stiffness but I don´t know how that could lead to this either. Symptoms get worse after taking aspirin since this has to do with my pulse. Symptoms also get worse after taking sedatives, it´s like the waves get bigger. This didn´t start after any trip, so I don´t know about mal de debarquement. Besides, I´m not satisfied with mal de debarquement as an explanation for anything, there has to be something behind it.
I´ve become totally isolated and can´t do anything anymore. Can´t go to work, can´t meet people, can´t go to the gym. I feel so spaced out and empty. This disorder takes most of my concentration and it feels difficult to do even simple things. I can´t remember anything anymore. This is terrible! I´ve never heard of anything quite like this, which makes me feel hopeless. If someone has, please help.
