Listed as possible side effects are tinnitus and hearing impairments. Can persist after stopping Accutane therapy.

I've taken Accutane and never had that problem! And I saw a dermatologist!

I have never put the use of Accutane & inner ear disorder together before reading your post. But I realized I did use Accutane about the same time my inner ear problem (endolymphatic hydrops) began.

I don't recall seeing any published studies in the medical literature connecting these 2 but if enough people had an association between Acutane & inner ear dysfunction it would warrant further looking into.

Ask for the May,2000 pharmaceutical insert.
It is listed. Also a MedGuide has now been required by the FDA(Jan.2001) to be handed out with accutane precriptions. There are medical abstracts about hearing problems listed in medical sites on the internet.

You and thousands of others who took accutane earlier may have hearing problems associated with the use of Accutane.
Others may not have a clue that the two could be related.
