little blackouts? help! - Inner Ear Disorders Message Board

hey guys. jst writing to aks if any of you have ever had this happen. i haven't had it happen in about a year or so. I can be just sitting there and i 'blackout' for a few seconds. i don't really know if i really blcak out though. it just seems that way. i scares the crap out of me. is it that my balance is completely off or what. i have eustachian tube dysfunction. i had an mri and ct scan about 2 years ago and nothing showed up then. my doctors really can't say anything. but they think that i am completely anxious. if that were the case then why wouldn't these little blackouts happenmore often?
couldit be lack of air or blood flow to my brain? help. please!

i had little hot-flashy-things that make me sort of black out. i'm not sure if that relates to you or not. i've ran into a couple of people with them now. apparently mine could be a disk in my neck that has slipped out of place. sorry i couldn't be of more help. i know how scary they are.

thanks for replying. i found an article online that has a girl talking about her situations that seem similar to mine, and her doctor told her that she was having a 'migraine' wether she actually had the headache or not. i can understand that, because i get the whole aura and numbness before a headache (migraine) or no headache. i just get so scared. and today i went to get my nails done and believe that i had a huge anxiety attack because i was scared of feeling the same way again. i hate this.

Hi Court78 - I have been thinking about your post - well I think you should go see your doctor. He will likely be able to put your mind at rest or run some tests and see what is going on. I ma interseted in you saying 'I think I black out' my son (hes real loittle only 4) had a similiar hing they reckon it was petit mal fits but he is totally unaware of what has happened and he finds to hard to hold his concentration after it and often feels very dizzy and sweats/is tired and cries etc etc. The docs at the time said that very often if a person loses momentary consiousness (not fainting) that they are actually unaware of it happening. So thats just a thought. Check it out and let us know - its likely nothing serious. Good Luck.
