hi i robertson ,
great idea ,
yesterday was a busy day... we have to travel a quite a way to the orthodontists.... and even though i feel more normal in a car it can upset the sypmtoms after....my daughter cant believe how it now feels without her brace her teeth look wonderful.... she has a very small mouth and the overcrowding was unbelivable, to start with she had 4 teeth out...and next week has to get her retainer........

even though my symps feel more gentle in the morning
the minute i open my eyes every thing i look at appears to be slightly shifting or jumping about and i see tiny tiny white dots , when i get going this seems to fade out........ wierd...........also when i sit down in the evening its the same but without the dots

the lightheaded feeling can happen to me in situations
like if i get up to fast from lying or sitting....and sometimes bending, i feel for a few minutes off balance and my vision can go for a few seconds... it goes black....then clears again... i have to sit straight back down for a min or two......another situation will be with the missing heartbeats which i used to get daily for years,,, i would feel like i am going to faint , but never have... this could happen quite a few times in a day... even 20 seconds apart.....
i can get a lightheaded feeling like my head is filled with helium or the feeling like when a plane is coming down to land and your head feels left behind, not as severe but resembles.......i can get this feeling when i sneeze.....
when i feel sudden panic.... like if one of the babes fell over or someone told me something i interpreted as shocking like......
one evening my husb and i went to a concert my daughter was appearing in at school
we got there early and was only a few of us, but sitting nearby was a nan with i presume 2 grandaughters
and the nan fell to the ground the girls freaked out and my lovely husb anounced to me, i think shes dead.
well the initial shock ... for a few secs...
of course she had fainted.... and so nearly did i,lol..

when i had a bad spells of vertigo after my 1st daughter i remeber having to come down stairs with her and i was on my own...the vertigo was bad enough but not that i would have fell to the ground... so i felt around the walls and floor with my arms and feet and when i was sure enough i sat on the stairs and slowly bumped down. so i become more focused on touch rather than sight.....till it wore off..... and i new at the time it would wear off....as it always did atsome point....but now.... i would never have believed that it could seem to go on indefinatly.. and a variant of vertigo.....not the one i was used to.... i hope there aint any more types lurking about lol...

we have lived in this house for 5 &1/2 years and r going to get the floor tiled soon , in the hall, cloakroom, kitchen and utility... lot of work and dont want to be amongst it ... might go and stay at my brothers at least during the day....

my little one still sleeps in our room , and is sleeping well though she doesnt go to bed early... wont... untill the others go....
we still have a lot to do in our house decorating wise....that was another thing i was doing before this came.......... i was painting the plaster coving which is quite elaborate still havent finished it been on hold dont feel safe to go up the steps..
hows u today?????
take care
brina

Hi Brina - thanks for your reply - hey I bet your daughters teeth look gorgeous - I had the same problem of over crowding myself and boy after having been pinned down and anethatised (against my will) I have a real phobia of dentists........another anxiety thing...LOL.

I was laughing and laughing when I read the bit about your husband at the school production saying 'shes dead!!' I probably would have fainted. From your symptoms i can tell you that mine are idnetical - I get all the same things form the dots in fornt of the eyes to panic or sudden fright making it worse! so that is a bit reasuuring for us both. I have an appointment at the ENt chap on Friday afternoon so I will post as soon as i am back form that and let yo know what he says I sincerely hope it is worth the trip. Hey I ma the same in the car in that the symptoms seem better - i asked the ENt the last time about that and he said it is because the motion in the car is greater than the internal illusions of motion that we have and hence over ride them. Like you my symptoms are worse after a long journey too - hey do you think we are twins?? My lightheadeness is like your too - pretty intermitent throughout the days but I can have spells when it is worse. I tell you an annoying thing is that when I have people round it can provoke the dizzies - do you get that? It is annoying and can put me off socialising - how abou=t you? The only other thing I get is sort of exagerated feelings of movement - like if I am sitting on the edge of the bed and the mattress shifts ever so slightly I get the feeling that I am slipping/falling or that the mattress has moved alot. likewise I can get that senstaion on and off during the day - looking down is a bad one for me. Or having to stand still - If I am caught by some-one and have to stand and chat - I tend to lean on something to stabalise myself and try to make an excuse to get away - these poor people probably think I am a bit weird ..LOL.

Oh how I love this inner ear thing. Tell me did you get your diagnosis purely from you describing your symptoms? have they said that it will entirely clear up or that it will just improve? I wonder this myself as our symptoms have been so long standing...albeit yours started years ago.

Dear sweet NON SLEEPING william is real cute but will not settle at night. Last night he was moaning non-stop between 11pm and 4.30am - needless to say i feel like I have been dragged through a bush backwards!! but its 'just a phase' I know. But tiring none the less. The little one is currently in lala land and I cannot sleep cause the other 2 are dotting about. Enough already I hear you say.

Catch you later - hope your brood are all well.

hi i robertson,
know what you mean about the dentist......when i was youngeri used to visibly shake, it was awful.... as i got a bit older i was ok..... but since having tinnitus i became wary..... because of the loud drill and the vibration.... wondered if it could dislodge something..... the worse situation i had with tinnitus was i had to ahve 2 wisdom teeth extracted and a complicated molar , id had it filled and most of it was filling attatched around a post...when i bit onto a roll the filling fell away and the metal pin sliced away at me tounge.... i had to go to the london hosp. to get them sorted .. i was more worried about the wisdom teeth but that other one they couldnt get out so i had to have emergency surgery while awake. they had to saw it out......couldnt believe it when the consultant called for the team....and it all going on in front of me eyes........ the wisdom teeth were a doddle compares to that...... i was deathly pale when i got outa there...... it never even affected my tinnitus........ but now once again i fear the dentis because of the dizzy and wondering when i have to go will it make it worse ,

the exagerated movement ....... yes i still get that
i have new exercises that involve lying on the bed and turning my head left to right eyes open then closed and rolling on to my left side over to the right this is quite disorinenting and feels exagerated..... and with the little ones fighting to sit next to me on the sofa.... boing boing it feels like a trampoline...... when the all start fighting and arguing i cant stand all the movement they make running about crazy aaaaarrrrghhhhhh.... the little darlings... lol
yes my diagnosis had been based on my description.......and the feel confident that it will go... all of it......... the prof said its self limiting ..... and it will go....

im glad to hear u r seeing the ent ..... find out when u can start th vrt.... they will make u feel worse to start .... in the long run they r going to help...
..........
do you ever get the feeling that one of your ears suddenly goes deaf (not entirely ) and then get a very low rumbling noise for several seconds then clears again?????

wishing you well
brina

Hi Brina - you always make me laugh!!

To answer your question - yep I get that sudden temporary dullness in hearing - I also get intermitent ringing noises - a bit like the washing machine on the spin cycle. I used to actually check the machine to see if it was that or just in my head. It was me not the machine....LOL

I have the same diagnosis as you - in that it is self-limiting and will 'burn itself out' eventually. Like you sooner rather than later would be ideal.

My appointment is at 2.45pm tommorrow - by the time that I drive back home (2 hours) it will likely be after 6ish that I post. The poor guy I have a list a mile long. I took some of the SERk - to absolutely no effect - so I have stopped. I read all about it on the internet and it seems most suited to severe vertigo attacks such as experienced by some-one with Miniere's - I don't have that so its not surprising that it did not help.

Thats funny about the dentsist - I like you am avoiding that too because of the ........dizzies. It really does have an impact.

Hope you are having a dizzy free day!!
