My new job - Inner Ear Disorders Message Board

Well my new supervisor let me log on since it was Friday and just wanted to say things are going pretty well. Yesterday was pretty good. It seems to be a very low stress job. You do alot of computer, sitting down stuff so when I got home, I immediately had to go for a hike. I think I will need to get acclimated to this for a while. Today, I feel a bit off but I think it's because the environment is totally new also. Next week will be the real test as I will have to do 7 days straight. If I make it through that o.k then I think will be the final approval that I will be just fine. I actually think I did more moving around when I was home in my own evironment but that will just mean a longer walk and more head turns.

Kathy I'm so happy you went back to work today. Great. I am so glad, and you sound well. I feel like me and you are on the same ride. Because I have lots of great days. But, then......... it rains.

It's true that when you are occupied you have a tendencey to ignore most of the feelings. But when I get up to move around, there they are. I can't wait for this to leave me totally and hope to God it Never, never, ever comes back again. I still know I would not be able to handle a job that would require me to do alot of running around. I'm good for the first 3 hours and then the unbalanced feelings start to show up. I have to get up at 5:30 every morning, Yuk! Never was a morning person but gotta make those changes. Great hearing from you again.

It seems----just a short time ago---and you were discussing how you would make out when you started your job in Oct----and here you are---doing it---boy does time fly!!

Yep new sights, sounds and movements for the brain to take in and lock-in.....but you expected that---good sign----old brain is still compensating---working the problem.

Boy the way your going this will be history---shortly---way to go & if the 7 day period---seems a little hard---remember----the brain is taking it all in and locking it in! It only get better from here on out!!!

Hi Kathy

Well done on coping with the new job so far. The way you feel is just how I feel at work. Sitting at the computer I forget about the symptoms only to get up and walk to the printer to be reminded about them. It becomes 'normal' don't worry!
