| | twisted artery cause of pulsatile tinnitus
Hi - I have posted here before in my long search to find if there was a reason for my right sided pulsatile tinnitus. I've been to a reputable ENT - had a hearing test, was sent last Nov. for an MRI of brain and auditory canal. Negative. ENT said probably would not find a reason and to see how things go - well, I have had this for 14 years with it getting worse last 2 years. I was not satisfied with that. Called him back in April and told him I wanted next test which was MRA/MRV which is MRI of veins and arteries in head.
He called me yesterday. Told me ( I have not received a cooy of the report yet), but said I had no tumors or growths but I have a twisted artery which is looped around the nerve leading to my ear which is more than likely the reason for my PT. I have to now see a specialist at the Univ. of Penn. for this. I am, I must admit, relieved that there is a reason, but scared to death of what I may be told. The twisted artery is in my brain. SCARY...
Is there anyone out there that this has happened to??? Or anyone knowledable about this? I cannot, of course, get in to see specialist until June 2nd.
Thanks - MaryAnn
