labrynthitis? , rocking sensation & transderm scop
I hope someone out there can help! A year ago I had 3 episodes of spinning senations. The second one occurred 10 days after the first, and also produce a rocking sensation (back and forth, sometimes like being on a boat) that has NEVER gone away! The third occurrence was about a month after that. While I didn't see things spin, I had the sensation of being on a tilt-a-whirl, and some nystagmus. I could not walk or even stay upright and was violently ill for several hours. I was brought to the hospital where many tests were done to rule out MS, etc. They decided I had viral labrynthitis--a Monster case of it according to one doc!
I was put on transderm scopalamine patches (I had been on meclazine, which had no effect), and have now been using the patches for a YEAR! Every time I try to go without them, I make it a day or two, then get very off balance and sick feeling. My doctor says this med. is not addictive, but I'm not sure I believe that. I know it wasn't meant for long term use!
Meanwhile, I am STILL ROCKING!
Has anyone else experienced this? Does it ever go away? I want my life back!! I go to work and do most things, but live for the day that I can wake up and not be moving!
Thanks for any replies.
