Putting finger in ear causes vision to move...

Anyone heard of this?

If I put my finger even near my left ear, it causes my eyes to shift for a moment. If I put it in my ear and move the finger around, my eyes will move with it. A slight dizzy feeling is felt.

This ONLY happens when there is a feeling of fullness in the ear.

When there is fullness, loud sounds will also cause a quick eye movement.

Is there actually any fluid in the middle ear when you experience the pressure?

Re: Putting finger in ear causes vision to move...

Hey Marc -

Sounds like what I have, which is called a perilymphatic fistula (basically a hole in your ear), which leaks perilymph fluid from one part of your brain to the other. Best way (only way really) is an exploratory surgery so they can find the leak and patch it up. CT scan and MRI's won't be able to see it so ask/seek out an ENT, take the fistula of ENG test to confirm.

Best, Smacky

Does anyone know if these symptoms are also caused by superior canal dehisence?
