| Meniers maybe but the Dr is not sure
Hi everyone,
I have pretty unhelpful ENT specialist so I hope some of you who are experiencing this can offer some thoughts. I first started feeling dizzy when I was pregnant in 2006, it did not go away for 2 years after the birth of my daughter but it was mild and managable. Then It suddenly cleared up and went away completely for a whole year. The only change I made was I was exercising a lot.
Now in Nov of 2011 I started feeling very dizzy again. I was still able to cope and manage but it seems to have gotten worse and this last month has been absolutely awful . I had to stay in bed for days and no body seemed to know what was wrong with me. i HAVE 3 TYPES OF DIZZINESS.
1) I feel something vibrating inside my head
2) I feel I am being pushed when I walk or when I lie down like somebody
is shaking the bed or tipping me over gently
3) I feel like my head is rotating in a clockwise direction
Finally I had an ENG and audiometry test and it showed vestibular damage in the left ear and also hearing loss in both ears. My dr said it could be meneirs but he does not want to commit to it as if he says I have it, then its for life!
Anyway I am wondering how does one know if its Meniers or not Labrynthitis or BPVV or something else..
I have also been taking Betahistine for almost a week now and it doesnt really seem to be helping although I am not entirely sure.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated
