Inner ear problem; please help!!! My ear has been acting up since before Halloween. It rings, it buzzes, it echos. Well, now it's been plugged for weeks too. I went to Urgent Care; twice. It's not infected, not ear wax, not sinus, not allergy. I have tried every medication they can give me, over the counter meds, and home made tricks. NO PAIN. (it has occasionally echoed, and rang for years, but nothing like this) I am working to see an ENT, but I'm waiting for my insurance to approve it. I have vertigo. I feel really really disoriented, and I'm not sure if it's because I can't hear well, or if it's something else. It's not fluid feeling plugged, there's no movement inside of it. So far the only relief I had was from steroids, 4 days, it didn't fix it, but it made it a little better. Has anyone had this? What can this be? I'm a 22 year old female, other wise healthy other than TMJ. The only other thing, I think is vertigo related, my vision shifts right and left when I try to read. |

I remember having a lot of fullness when I had Vestibular Neuritis. I hope you get in to see a specialist soon! Best wishes! |
Re: Inner ear problem; please help!!! check out to see if you have an acoustical neuroma. i do and presents the same symptons as yours. i am awaiting an m.r.i. for definitive diagnosis. they are a type of benign tumor which attach to the auditory nerve. its usually a wait and watch situation but the can do surgery to remove it or radiation. good luck |
