Yes - it can - but I feel like other things can as well.
When I first had my IC, I mainly had super stinging and burning in the urethra with peeing and even randomly during the day. Sometimes it was so painful I could've sworn I had a yeast infection or a bacterial infection. A lot of pain with sex as well.
My IC has shifted to different things now along with pressure - this disease/condition/nightmare whatever you want to call it is SO frustrating.
