thyroid med & interstitial cystitis

Have any of you on Armour or any thyroid med had a problem with urinary frequency? I have IC & haven't notice bladder irritation until I've been on the Armour for about 2 weeks now. I don't remember reading this as a side effect. Thanks.

Re: thyroid med & interstitial cystitis

It is happening to me too, I constantly have to go and my bladder feels irritated.
I switched to Armour I didn't notice this while I was on Synthroid.
I guess I will call my doctor and let him know.

Thanks mauz. I haven't mentioned it to my dr yet. Seems everything I try causes me a problem so I'm trying to not complain. I couldn't take Synthroid. Keep us posted.

I know how you feel I also try not to complain but sometimes this thyroidmess is getting to me.
I hope this is just a side effect of the medication and it will pass with time.

take care

Re: thyroid med & interstitial cystitis

I've been having a more frequent urge to go recently, even when I don't have a full bladder, and also sometimes a little leakage. I thought it was due to age and/or weight (I'm 39 and very overweight) but now that I think about it I don't remember having this problem before my last dose increase (Synthroid) which is also when we added Cytomel. Is it possible too much T3 could cause overstimulation of the bladder?

I think so I didn't had that problem on T4 meds only.
