Update from previous post
It was a few months ago that I posted so here is an update.
I had the distention and biopsy done in May. I could immediately tell that it did not work like it did last time. I had only mild temporary pain relief.
I did go and see the pain specialist and he prescribed Neurontin taking it four times daily.
It made a world of difference. I actually had pain free days!! It had been a year with pain daily.
However, I lost my job and insurance and had to move out of state. So I wasn't always taking the Neurontin four times daily. And my drinking soda increased. Up to 4 a day. I have cut back to once or twice daily.
I had dramatic increase in pain and am nearly back to the pain level I had before any treatment. So I am very disappointed.
I am trying to be better about taking the meds four times daily and drinking more water. But still dealing with pain.
I will keep you updated once I am back on track with the meds.
I have established with a new PCP who is prescribing the Neurontin for me.I am not seeing any specialists since I still don't have insurance and the PCP is ok with this.
I am still refusing the Elmiron and am not going to risk the increased anxiety since my anxiety is already through the roof due to job loss, moving, etc.
I would be interested in knowing if any one who already had anxiety had increases due to Elmiron or if not.??
So if you are seeking advise on other meds to try I would consider Neurontin with your doctors. It did help greatly when I was taking it as prescribed.
