Colon resection

Hi I am 53 and has gastric sleeve surgery Jan 2015, best decision I ever made, reached goal lost 125 lbs. I have suffered with sever IBS for a long time now and I have tried everything possible, it would work for a week or 2 then stopped working. My surgeon finally decided to do a colon resection, I had extremely long colon, it was lazy and very slow and also called treacherous bowels, all twisted every which way. Anyway I had colon rescetion 3 weeks ago and my Dr said the diarrhea will stop at about 3 weeks, then I should have normal bowel movements 1 to 2 times a day. I am taking benefiber which is not helping. I was wondering is this Normal and will the diarrhea ever stop? I thought about taking Metamucil but with having the sleeve size tummy would that hurt me? I am so tired and exhausted all the time, I'm dizzy and lightheaded, I don't see my doc again until the 23rd of march. May have to go back sooner. Can you please give me any tips anything would be appreciated
Thanks so much.
Kathy Ricker.
