Prune Juice with Pulp for "C"

I've been constipated my entire life. I'm really tired of relying on laxatives, both OTC and prescription.

I met a woman in the drugstore who said we shared the same problem in that our stool is impossible to pass. She told me to try prune juice with pulp...not the regular one. I tried the regular prune juice which I found to do nothing, but never tried the one with pulp.

Well I did drink 4 ounces last night of the one with pulp( I wanted to start slowly) and I did have a comfortable BM this morning.

Has anyone had any luck with this simple alternative? Could I have found something that may bring some relief?

You may find aloe vera juice is also helpful.

Thank you for your reply. In the past I tried Distilled Aloe water by a company called Georges. It was clear and tasted just like water. Is that the same as the juice you are referring to? Do you use your juice regularly, and if so what have you found it to be helpful for?

Hi DeeDee,

I haven't used the juice, so I don't know if it works. I can eat a spoonful of canteloupe and I will have smooth BMs. But I don't always use that . I use bile supplements which are OTC and quite natural. It works perfectly for me.

Nevertheless, I am curious to find out if prune juice with pulp works for me or not. Maybe I will try it.

HI All. I just wanted to update my topic. I have still been drinking my prune juice with pulp, and have increased it to 6-8 ounces a day. I am also taking a tablespoon of Benefiber, have eliminated soda and have made an effort to increase my fiber with fruits, vegetables and cereals and drink water alot of the day.

It's a miracle for me to not have to take a laxative to have a BM. I took them constantly and was starting to get stomach problems. I am pleased to report that I am going every other day and it is a soft, passable consistency. I am passing alot of gas, but I think that's a positive thing in that things are "moving" along. I never used to before due to my diet of pizza, pasta and fried garbage food. I'm just trying to be more aware of what I'm putting in my mouth.

Just wanted to report it to you all. Thanks good ole' prune juice!
