I would like to ask you all a question. I am conducting a little study, I greatfully appreciate all responses...
DO YOU NORMALLY HAVE PAIN IN YOUR RIGHT OR LEFT SIDE WITH IBS?
Let me rephrase :
I only want to know if you have pain on the right side or left side of your body. If you want you can post (example) URQ - upper right quadrant or LLQ- lower left quadrant. Or simply just tell me LEFT or RIGHT. I am conducting my own little study. If you have pain on both sides I would like to know which side that you generally have more pain on.
Thanks to all!

I have pain pretty much daily in the LLQ. Mine is the D type and is so bad most of the time I have to take pain meds for it. Presently, I'm on Methadone, 180 mgs (plus some others) and I still have pain. I'm also trying to deal with post surgical pain from lung surgery I had. With my chronic pain situation, I am on SS Disability.
for the replys, this is getting to be quite interesting. When I am done with the study I will post my results..I have a suspicion about this and so far those who have replied are proving that my suspicion is true, we'll see what the out come brings. I am hoping that I can get quite a few people to post on this topic.
I don't quite get pain as much as a light spasm anywhere around my stomach and anywhere around my chest - only for a short while. Of late I've had some pain behind my shoulder blades - my right shoulder blade in the past week in particular. I can't say I've had more pain in any quadrant.
You're right - it can be a sign of gall bladder attacks - my doctor did mention that he suspected that might be the problem a couple of years ago.
I have to be honest with you Everwondering - I'm not that concerned about it. I know exactly what causes my pains - My techniques are so highly advanced (although I probably shouldn't mention this). It started about 5 days ago - and I guess I just didn't know how to deal with it then. Its gone now.
First of all, great question. Mine moves. One day it will start out around the belly button area, then move to the RLQ then one or two days later, belly button, then LLQ. I assume that is trapped gas or something. Sometimes, it does not move and I most often have it in the RLQ.
