misdiagnosed as IBS

A couple years ago I was completely miserable with the symtoms of what my doctor said were IBS. I even went to a specialist who said I had the same thing. I hated going to work, and I missed my classes a lot. I never went out anymore. One day my mom wasreadig an article in the newspaper about celiac disease which produces many of the same symptoms. Next timeI went to the doctor and asked to be tested. They did a simple blood test which said I had it. I could no longer have any gluten in my diet (which is bread, MSG, and lot of other things). I cut them out of my diet and immediately felt completely better. I just wanted to let people know in case this might apply to someone else because I endured almost two years of needless suffering.

Not sure if I have celiacs, but I do feel a lot better off of gluten. I did some testing thru Enterolabs which basically said I should not eat wheat and carry the gene for Celiacs. Now when I accident eat wheat I end up with mouth ulcers and horrible bloating.
